Some of these paintings are inspired by snapshots taken by me and others. Some are painted from life. I play it fast and loose with the color, toss a fluorescent or two in. Finger the paint up. Splatter, scrub things off. Blast it with a heat gun. The paper ripples, roughens, wears through. When forced to frame them I do it so the edges show and the ripples and waviness remain. Many are like recovered objects to me. Recovered memories of themselves.
